Director's Commentary
The original image was a behind-the-scenes shot of the clothed girl touching up the model’s hair. As the photo was taken, her hand was posed perfectly to depict her holding something. It took considerable work to move things around so her arm was in front of the subject’s face, but it was a very fun bit of business.
