Hello friends I’m back to give you a quick status update on what’s going on with the site right now. I’ve been putting some solid effort into several things over the past several weeks so I thought I’d fill you in on the details of my progress.

First up: Space Ranger. this manip is turning into a massive endeavor. What I’m planning at the moment will be a mixed-media story consisting of images, video, and music. Without getting into specifics of the story I can say that this manip is going to be a celebration of several eras of science fiction and space opera… along with the yummy mind control that so often accompanied those great works.

The story and characters draw their inspiration across a broad range of influences. From the Flash Gordan serials of the 1930s, to the sexy 70s revival of Buck Rogers, all the way up to FemShep cosplay of the 21st century. I’ve done an enormous amount of Photoshop work establishing the characters and locations that set up the story. Next up is to begin the work of enslaving some of the sexy cast members of this upcoming piece. I’ll keep you posted on this one. I’m currently planning to have it out sometime late this year.

Next up, I’m happy to report that bdsmlr has all but completely removed my heartache over the death of tumblr and the treasure trove of potential manip images I’d gathered there. I’ve found a host of blogs, new and old, and my “Manip Art” folder is filling once more with epic smut.

I’ve got a short list of photos & GIFs that I’m thinking about turning into a quick little piece of mind control erotica. Something similar in scope to Private Security. I’ve done some image work on several things and I’m just waiting to see where inspiration strikes. I know the wait between these long-form stories can be quite a dry spell and I don’t like it anymore than you fine folks. I’d like to put one or two of these smaller vignettes out to help tide us all over for the next big release…

Speaking of which, lets finish up by talking about Pleasure Professionals! This is one of the first upcoming projects I teased after the site relaunch and its also proven to be one of the more challenging. To have had such a clear idea of what I wanted to accomplish, I had a terrible go of things when I actually sat down to do the writing.

I trashed that draft and began another. Then trashed that one and began again… and again!

Fortunately, I kept plodding away and on my fourth draft, I finally hit upon both the tone and angle that had been eluding me. Armed with this new inspiration, I’ve been regularly working on this new draft which is currently just over three thousand words. Its feeling to me like I’ve got another two or three thousand to go before I’ll be able to circle back and start polishing things up.

I don’t have an ETA for you yet. All I can say is that I’m eagerly writing away every chance I get and I’m very excited to get this one finished and posted for you all to enjoy. I’ve also collected a few other photos and may be able to craft a small series of images to help tell this growing story.

New Story: Private Security

I say “story” instead of “manip” or “animation” because, for quite possibly the first time, I didn’t touch the source material with this piece. Not that I didn’t have ideas or that it might not have spiced things up a bit. However, at the time, I was just in the mood to quickly write something punchy and hot. Words that would complement the -amazing- animated GIF I had stumbled across while test driving ShareSome.com

Last time, I talked about trying out some of the alternatives that have risen in the wake of Tumblr’s demise (sexy Tumblr I mean, regular boring Tumblr is still a thing). My first day banging around on ShareSome I came across this animation and decided I’d see how easy it was to re-post it with some naughty mind control words attached.

So, I spent a few minutes writing a few paragraphs and posted away. It was really quite fun. It reminded me of a period in my work when I wasn’t quite as plodding and methodical as I’ve been in recent years. Which is another way of saying I’m slow as hell these days and I wanted to feel light-of-foot again. Kind of like a mid-life crisis but I’m, technically, still too young for that. Unless my cholesterol is worse than I think it is.

In which case… I might need to go shopping for a sports car I can’t afford or something.

Anyway. The point, finally, is that my only contribution here is a fun little vignette of a story inspired by one of the most AMAZING physiques I’ve ever seen on a human being. The fact that she’s also gorgeous and fucking herself silly is just icing on the cake.

Catching Up With Callidus – New Home on Social Media

Welcome back true believers.

When Tumblr decided to begin purging their service of adult content, a little part of me quietly panicked. In just a couple years, the site had become an indispensable asset in discovering excellent photos, videos, and GIFs that parked themselves in my “manip ideas” folder. It was also a terrific place to bump into like-minded smut enthusiasts.

I, and many others, miss that brief, golden age. But, there’s no rewinding time and so we’re, all of us, moving on and moving forward. But to where? As Madam Kistulot and I discussed in the last episode of The Black Room podcast, there are a handful of really viable places for Tumblr expats to hang their harnesses.

A terrific option I mentioned on the show is Sharesome.com They are an adult-content-focused (as opposed to adult-content-friendly) site that, for my money, has the best user interface of any social media service I’ve used to date. They also have some features designed to help content creators connect with fans, get paid, and maintain credit for their work. All excellent, and much needed, developments in my opinion.

Their service, I’ve read recently, isn’t just a website but rather something called a progressive web app. I don’t fully understand the implications of that but, among other things, it allows the site to run on mobile devices in a manner similar to native apps. If you’re in the iOS sphere, that’s a big deal as there is likely never going to be an app that makes it to Apple’s store that promotes itself as a hub for adult content.

It’s fast too. Sharesome, running in a dedicated browser on my phone feels damn close to the speed and responsiveness of the Tumblr app. It also has a terrific ‘Topics’ function where you can quickly create or subscribe to a tag. Rather than searching for blogs that feature content you’re hot for, let’s say erotic mind control as an example, you can simply search for that topic and add it to your feed. When folks post to their blogs and tag their posts to the erotic mind control topic, everyone who’s subscribed will see their post, even if they don’t follow that person’s individual blog.

It’s a slick feature and the thing that made me fall in love with the service.

Sharesome would be absolutely phenomenal… if it weren’t sitting empty like one of those shiny, new Chinese cities waiting on people to inhabit it. There’s plenty of mainstream and niche-mainstream content to be found but very slim pickings for the kinds of blogs I avidly followed on Tumblr. Where did all those folks go?

bdsmlr.com, it turns out.

The little Tumblr-clone-that-could stepped in almost immediately after it was announced that adult content would soon be purged from Tumblr’s service. I checked it out at the time and wasn’t too impressed. Their interface felt like a cheap, less responsive, knock-off of Tumblr that was grasping beyond its reach to duplicate the features Tumblr users had become accustomed to.

It still feels that way to me. However, the devs behind the site have been plodding forward, adding requested features and fixing bugs. The service is growing noticeably better each day. And moreover, the community there is thriving. I’ve found dozens of Tumblr refugees who have moved their content there, and several totally new blogs as well.

I don’t find myself missing Tumblr as much as I was just a few weeks ago. The people who made that adult community such a fun place to be are doing it all over again.

Sure, I wish everyone had collectively migrated to Sharesome. I love using their mobile site and I think almost everyone would be as impressed as I am with their innovative and forward-looking feature set. Rather than just settling for cloning Tumblr’s look and functionality which, let’s face it, could’ve withstood some improvement.

But if bdsmlr continues to innovate at the rate they’ve been going; If they can gain enough financial stability to keep delivering new features and refining their service… who knows where they might be this time next year? Content is king. The community on bdsmlr already has a checkmark in that column as far as I’m concerned. bdsmlr also has a dev team that is actively engaged with their community right now and working hard to make them happy and draw in new users.

If that continues like it has, I can imagine some great things ahead for this site and it’s users. I’m very happy to count myself among them. So, if you’re in the neighborhood, stop by my blogs:

The Black Room Returns!

Greetings true believers!

Although things have been quiet here on the site for a bit… behind the scenes its a -very- different story. I’ve been busy on many new fun & smutty things that I’ll be telling you about and sharing in the near future. Today, though, I’m delighted to bring you a fresh, new episode of The Black Room podcast!

New Animation: Fun Room

Welcome back, dear reader!

After teasing it weeks ago, I’m (finally) pleased to bring you my latest animated manip: Fun Room! Please check it out and then read on for my director’s commentary!

The video work on this piece was a real joy to work on. Challenging in different ways than these things often are. Visually, I was really inspired by an old friend of mine: HypnoTits. He was already creating snazzy video manips on the Hypnopics Collective back when I first started dabbling in animation.

We connected over a mutual love of the other’s work and really hit off over a shared love of punk rock, brainwashing scenes from old tv shows, and…ahem…breasts. Anyhoo, we had even been working on a collaboration just before he disappeared from the scene all those years ago.

So, the idea of projecting video imagery on the wall behind the women in this video, that’s a big tip of the cap to HypnoTits. That technique was something he used to great effect time and time again.

At the time I wrote that teaser post, the video was done and I’d written about fifteen hundred words of the caption. I felt like I was just one polish-pass away from putting it to bed.

Silly me.

Upon reading a couple more times, I really cringed at almost the entire second half. It needed a major retool. Between being busy with work and just not having any ideas on how to change it, the whole project came to a stand still.

Last week, I decided to follow some of that obvious advice that writers often get: “Keep writing no matter what!” Turns out that works pretty well! I finally found a way through the material that I was happy with and finished up with the wordsmithing over the weekend.

In the end, I think the problem was that I’d started the project hoping to make something a bit simple and I found myself complicating it. So much so that it stopped being the project that I’d enjoyed so much initially. Simplifying the story and just sticking to the core ideas I’d started with ended up being the way through the block.

As Madam Kistulot sagely observed, “Beating your head against the all is sometimes the only way out of the room ” She should make a calendar or something. 😉

As for me, it’s on to the next!

Almost Back!

Hey all,

I know I haven’t posted much this summer. I’ve been just completely engulfed in freelance work and other projects. However, I have found some breathing room in the past couple weeks. So, I thought I’d say hello and give you all a little peek at something I’m finishing up.

I’ve had this snippet of video saved for a while that I just -knew- I could do something with. I happened onto the folder I’d saved it in a week or two ago and took another look and it finally clicked with me. I trimmed out the roughly 25 seconds of relevant video and put it in a new project folder titled “Bimbo Room.”

I’m essentially finished with the visual fx work at this point. I’ve also been scribbling some notes that will turn into a modest caption I plan to write. I have just a bit of editing and tweaking left to do on the visuals. Then, I’ll assemble my notes into the story and then…I’ll be sharing it with you all!

So, hopefully, something to look forward to.

Catching Up With Callidus – May 31 2018

Happy Thursday all!

Since I’ve been teasing you with this story I’ve been hammering on, I thought I’d shine a bit of light on things today. The manip is called Dripping and the summary goes a little something like this:

A waitress spots a kinky pair of women at the corner table. But is she prepared for what happens when they catch her watching?

The “caption” is now north of five thousand words. This week, I’ve managed to smooth out a rough patch in the narrative that was really bothering me. Taking the extra time to polish was really worthwhile in that I was able to solve this problem but, also, in that I stumbled onto some ideas that I think are going to pay off nicely.

I’ve begun writing the final scene and I can’t wait to finally share this one with you all!

In Podcasting news, last night Madam Kistulot and I had an epic conversation with none other than Lex Lucas of Entrancement! I’ve been hoping to have Lex on for a long time and it was a dream come true to finally sit down and chat with him. I could tell you about all the fun the three of us had but you’ll hear it for yourself soon enough!

It was pretty damn fun though. 😉

MK and I still need to record the episode’s “bookends” but we’ll knock that out soon enough. I think the show will be out early next week.
